Homecoming 2011 set for Feb. 24-26

Homecoming 2011 Festivities will be held at Francis Marion University in the days leading up to the weekend of Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011.

Annual events include the Patriots on Fire Bonfire and Pep Rally, Alumni Reception at The Cottage, as well as get-togethers held by different academic departments on campus.

The annual PatriotFest (FREE admission) will be held on Saturday in the Smith University Center. Alumni basketball games will be played on that morning with the women at 10:30 a.m. and the men at 11 a.m. (tentative times).

The Swamp Fox Club's annual benefit silent auction will be held in the gym from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Francis Marion University men's and women's basketball teams will play Armstrong Atlantic State University in a Peach Belt Conference doubleheader that Saturday afternoon at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. in the Smith University Center. Between games of the twinbill, two former Patriots will be inducted into the FMU Athletic Hall of Fame. At the conclusion of the men's game, the Homecoming Court will be announced.

The Patriot baseball team will also be home that weekend, hosting Seton Hill University in a 1 p.m. doubleheader on Saturday and a 1 p.m. single game on Sunday.

Admission to all of the athletic contests on Saturday will be free.
