Weather changes FMU Spring Sports

Due to predicted inclement weather for Friday, several Francis Marion University spring sports contests have been changed.

The Peach Belt Conference softball doubleheader between FMU (3-1) and Georgia Southwestern State University (2-4) set for Saturday afternoon on the FMU Softball Field has been postponed until Monday (Feb. 15) at 1 p.m.

The Lander University Valentine's Day (baseball) Classic has altered its schedule with no games now scheduled for Friday.  The eighth-ranked Francis Marion University squad (2-1 record) will play Georgia College & State University on Saturday (Feb. 13) at 5 p.m.  On Sunday, the Patriots will face Barry University at 10 a.m. and 21st-ranked Lincoln Memorial University at 4 p.m.   All games will be played on Lander's Legion Field in Greenwood, S.C.  The FMU vs. GC&SU contest will not count in the Peach Belt Conference standings.

The nationally ranked FMU men's and women's tennis teams were to have played at Barton College on Saturday afternoon, but those matches have been postponed until Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. in Wilson, N.C.
