Patriot pitcher named CPL All-Star

Francis Marion University right-handed pitcher Patrick Mincey has been selected to play in the Coastal Plain League All-Star Game, Tuesday, July 20, in Forest City, N.C.

Mincey, a native of Hartsville, will represent the Wilmington Sharks in the All-Star event, and will has been assigned to the American League squad.

For Wilmington, Mincey has compiled a 1-1 record in 12 appearances with six saves and a 0.42 earned run average.  He has struck out 28 batters in only 21.1 innings of work.

The junior righty appeared in 22 contests for Francis Marion this past spring, tallying a 3-2 record with two saves and a 3.43 ERA. He fanned 47 batters in 44.2 innings.
