PERSONAL:  Born Johnrique Simel Boyd in Charleston, S.C.......Graduated from Cross High School, where he played for coach Leon Wheaton....As a senior, averaged 19 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks per game....2-time All-Lowcountry honoree....3-time  All-State and  All-Region selection.....As a junior, averaged 22.7 points, 8 rebounds, 3.8 blocks, and 2 assists per game.....2006 Region 6-A Player of the Year....Averaged 14 points and 6 rebounds per game as a sophomore.
