Patriots move up at Big 5 Tournament
PHILADELPHIA, PA - Francis Marion University, led by sophomore Kenneth Svanum's 70, moved up two positions on Sunday (Oct. 10) to finish 17th at the Big 5 Golf Tournament.
First-round leader Furman University retained its team lead on the final day to claim an eight-stroke victory over St. John's University, while Princeton University finished third.
Svanum finished tied for 26th with a two-day score of 147. FMU's Sean Morrison tied for 66th following a 76 score on Sunday, while Sebastian Backlund tied for 87th (77-81=158), Travis Gantt placed 94th (81-79=160), and Fredrik Sporck tied for 95th (79-82=161)
Francis Marion will conclude its 2010 fall schedule when the Patriots play in the Hummingbird Intercollegiate, hosted by Western Carolina University, Nov. 1-2.
