Patriots announce four new tennis players
Francis Marion University men’s and women’s tennis coach Garth Thomson has announced the addition of two men’s and two women’s players for the 2011-12 season. The newcomers are Luke Bateup of Beckenham, England, and Gavin Davison of Bingley, England, on the men’s side, while Julia Graf of Aerzen, Germany, and Sofia Pacifico of Canada de Gomez, Argentina, will be joining the Patriot women.

82 FMU student-athletes named to PBC Presidential Honor Roll
The Peach Belt Conference announced that 1,058 student-athletes have been named to the 20th-annual Presidential Honor Roll. The list includes 82 student-athletes from Francis Marion University.

The 13th-ranked Patriot women suffered their first loss of the season losing to the ninth-ranked CSU women. The 13th-ranked CSU men defeated the 17th-Patriots.

Jitka Gavdunova.and Mona Blauen combined for three points at the top to help lead the 13th-ranked FMU women to a 6-3 win over the 44th-ranked Queens women.

Admission is free. Action will begin with doubles play on Friday at noon.
