Patriots run at NCAA regional cross country meet

WINGATE, NC - The Francis Marion University men's and women's cross country teams finished 22nd and 23rd in their respective meets at the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Championships, Saturday morning (Nov. 7) in Wingate, N.C.

The FMU men were led by senior Hillary Kiprop who placed 73rd with a time of 36:17 over the 10,000-meter course.  Freshman Justin Albertson concluded a successful opening year wearing the red, white, and blue by coming in 112th with a time of 38:22.  Ben Miller placed 132nd (39:36), while Ian Wallace was 145th (41:41), and Justin Trigg was 151st (42:55).

Senior Amanda Doyle paced the Patriot Women with a 69th-place finish and a time of 26:37 for 6,000-meters.  Sophomore Samantha Smith finished 138th (30:22), while Sierra Young was 150th (32:20), Holly Todd was 155th (33:19), and Amanda Booker was 159th (35:34).

Queens University of Charlotte won the men's team title, while Columbus State University captured the women's team championship.
