Patriot Women named to All-PBC Tennis Team

Two Francis Marion University women's tennis players were named to the Peach Belt Conference 2010 All-Conference Teams.  The announcements were made at the recent PBC Championship Tournaments in Jonesboro, Ga.

Senior Tereza Sykorova was named a first-team All-PBC singles player for the third consecutive year, while junior Sabina Baberadova was a second-team choice.  The two were also named as a first-team doubles All-Conference selection.

Sykorova, a native of Prague, Czech Republic, is 16-3 in singles play at the No. 1 position and is ranked 10th nationally.  She is 10-2 in the Peach Belt and possesses a 54-11 career singles record. 

Baberadova, a native of Brno, Czech Republic, has a 17-2 singles mark at the No. 2 and 3 spots, and is ranked 36th nationally in singles play.  She is also 10-2 in against PBC competition.

The two have combined to post an 18-3 doubles record and are ranked second among all Division II duos.  They are 10-2 in the Peach Belt and have played four matches against nationally ranked opponents.

The 13th-ranked Francis Marion women are 16-5, and are awaiting next week’s announcement of the NCAA Division II National Tournament field.
