FMU sets 2011 Summer Volleyball Camp date
The Francis Marion University women’s volleyball program will hold its summer camp, July 7-9. Campers may choose to either commute to camp daily, or reside on campus in the FMU residence halls. AS OF JUNE 29, THIS CAMP IS FULL AND NOT ACCEPTING ANY NEW APPLICATIONS.
The program is also offering summer road camps.
The camp is for players entering the sixth through 12th grades. The cost is $250 per player for residential campers, and $165 for commuting campers. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt.
The camp is designed to provide instruction for all of the skills of the game of volleyball, in addition to team defensive and offensive systems.
The 2011 Patriot Volleyball Road Camps consist
of five three-hour sessions (a 15-hour camp). Dates are arranged
based on the coach's availability.
A minimum of 18 participants (at $85 per camper) are required for
your school to host a Road Camp. Varsity, junior varsity,
freshmen, and middle school players are welcome to meet the
minimum.
FMU women’s volleyball coach Paul MacDonald is the director of Patriot Volleyball Camps. In his short stint at FMU, he has already guided FMU to an NCAA National Tournament appearance and has earned Peach Belt Conference Coach of the Year honors. He has extensive camp experience, including working at the universities of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa; Stanford University; Michigan State University; Purdue University; Eastern Michigan University; Mount Mercy College; and Riverview and Regina high schools in Michigan.
MacDonald has also directed the Florence Juniors Volleyball Club for the past five years.
