PERSONAL: Born Whitney Joy Wagner in Wayne, Neb....Graduated from Smoky Mountain High School, where she ran for coaches Pam Dehdashty and Adam Phillips.....Earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State honors for cross country twice after picking up the sport as a junior.....Placed 18th at the state meet, and owns a personal-best 5,000-meter time of 21:08....Also played softball....Jackson County Hall of Fame's Athlete of the Year.....Her father is the head football coach at Western Carolina University....Hobbies include playing sports, hanging with friends, and shopping....Nickname is Whit.
